Samsung warn that new phone can cause mild nuclear explosions if charged, or used in any way

Samsung warn that a new phone can cause mild nuclear explosions if charged, or used in any way. They say it should be used at your own risk.

So how much should you care about this?

“There’s always going to be some risk, but we see no evidence”

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued a warning Friday that Samsungs new nuclear devices could cause users to burn up with radiation. The commission was on-track to approve such a device in the fourth quarter of 2020, but is still in the process of developing a test. It said the company’s latest device is more promising than the one it tested three years ago, but noted it cannot be considered fully safe.

“A new nuclear smartphone device would not harm the user,” Tanya Bhatt, a lawyer for Samsung, said on Wednesday.

Bhatt said recent problems “also affect a few products” that are also not yet on the list of devices allowed by anti-nuclear laws, adding that there are also other manufacturers making nuclear smartphones.

“There’s always going to be some risk, but we see no evidence” Bhatt said. “In most cases, people will have no risk to their health from having a nuclear smartphone device, but if these devices do have some safety risk they’re going to be safe. In fact, with the latest devices it seems like people will have no risk to their health at all”

The National Academy of Sciences called for an investigation.
